Members only Duplicate Bridge Tournament - January: A duplicate bridge tournament where participation is restricted to club members only is planned on Friday 24 January 2020 from 5 pm till approximately 8 pm at the old card room on the first floor in the clubhouse. Entry fee is Rs. 500 per pair (Rs. 250 per member), applicable taxes extra. There will be some refreshments for the participants as well as some prizes to be won. Entries will be accepted for pairs only, so please finalize your partner before entering. Members wishing to participate may submit their entries by filling in their names and details in the register kept in the old card room with the marker.  Entries are on a first-come-first-serve basis and will be accepted from 12 noon onwards on 3 January 2020. Entries will close as soon as 18 pairs have entered or by 7 pm on Monday 20 January 2020, whichever is earlier. The tournament will not be held if the entries received by 7 pm on 20 January 2020 are less than 12 pairs.

Future events: The next cards tournament has been scheduled from 20 April 2020 to 26 April 2020. The next edition of the Rummy League is planned for February 2020.

CARDS

 

CCI holds a Weekly Duplicate Bridge Tournament every Monday in the first floor card room. Entry fee is Rs. 250/- for Members and Rs. 300/- for Guests. This includes high tea and prizes for the first 5 winning pairs.

A special prize is reserved for CCI beginners.

Entries are on a first come first served basis at the venue.

BRIDGE nbsp;

Those wishing to enrol for Bridge classes conducted by Dr. Prakash Lulla may register their names with Marker Ali in the New Card Room. The classes will commence in the middle of August and will be held in the ground floor Card Room on 7 consecutive Saturdays from 2.45 pm – 5.45 pm. For further details please contact the Sports Dept. at the Stadium House Admin Office.

HOUSIE SESSIONS

 

Monday 22nd  Jan 2018  a Bumper Housie for Members & Guests at the East Lawns from 5.30 pm onwards. Members FREE Guests Rs.200/-. Tickets available from 3rd  Jan 2018 near the Old Card Room with Mr. Taqui from 3.30 pm – 6.30 pm. Lucky Dips and exciting prizes are on offer. In all games first full House will be a minimum of Rs.5000/- and the last Game attractive prizes which will be announced at the venue.

Regular Housie Sessions continue on Sundays and Bank Holidays from 10.30 am. – 1 pm. in the New Card Room on the first floor.

Running

  Runners Symposium  

In a first ever, a Runners Symposium was held on Dec 7th  2019, which included three leading experts in the field.  The symposium served as preparatory advice to a house full audience before the upcoming Tata Mumbai Marathon 2020.

Kinita Kadakia Patel, Sports Nutritionist spoke on the importance of a balanced intake of carbohydrates, vitamins, proteins, hydration and the need for proper rest and recovery. She emphasized that the nutritional plan varies in the year based on the focus / target.   

Heath Matthews, Head of Sports Medicine at Sir H.N. Reliance Foundation Hospital spoke about the Human Movement Performance Pyramid where he emphasized on the need to have a strong base comprising strengthening the core, mobility, flexibility and stability training. The middle of the pyramid focusses on the building endurance, strength, speed, power and agility; and at the top of the pyramid, is the skill related to the sport.

Dr Aashish Contractor, Director of Sports Medicine and Rehab Medicine at Sir H.N. Reliance Foundation Hospital spoke about the truths and myths of whether too much running can be bad for the heart. Dispelling the fear based on statistics, he talked about the various causes of sudden death and what are the precautions that one should take. Aashish is a CCI member, an experienced runner and iron man!
